Legal Documentation
We're transparent about how LapDog works, how we protect your data, and what you own when you build. Read our full terms, privacy policy, and acceptable use guidelines below.
Terms of Service
Platform Use & User Responsibilities
By using LapDog, you agree to use the platform only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe upon the rights of others or restrict their use and enjoyment. You are solely responsible for the content you create, upload, and publish using LapDog's tools. You retain all rights to your builds, brand assets, code, and any intellectual property you create on the platform.
Your Intellectual Property
All outputs generated by LapDog (brand copy, design systems, landing pages, pitch decks, and code) belong to you. You own the domain, the brand assets, the pitch deck, the landing page code, and the full-stack application code. LapDog does not claim ownership of any builds you create. You are free to edit, distribute, sell, or use your builds however you choose.
Marketplace & Asset Sales
If you list a build on the LapDog Marketplace, you represent that you own all rights to that build and all assets included in the listing. Buyers receive verified ownership of the domain, code, brand kit, pitch deck, and copy. LapDog takes a 10% commission on successful sales; you keep 90%. Listings are free. You are responsible for accurate descriptions and representations of your builds.
Limitation of Liability
LapDog provides the platform "as is." We make no guarantees about the success of your builds, the traffic your landing page will receive, the code quality, or whether your business will succeed. LapDog is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the platform, even if we've been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability is limited to the amount you've paid LapDog in the past 12 months.
Dispute Resolution
Any disputes arising from these terms will be resolved through binding arbitration, not in court. You agree to resolve disputes on an individual basis, not as part of a class action. Both parties waive the right to a jury trial.
Privacy Policy
Data Collection
We collect information you provide directly: account details (email, name), product ideas and descriptions, brand preferences, marketplace listings, and payment information. We also collect usage data: how you interact with the platform, which tools you use, and what you build. This helps us improve LapDog and provide better recommendations.
How We Use Your Data
We use your data to: operate and improve the platform, process payments, communicate with you about your account and builds, prevent fraud and abuse, and show you relevant features and tools. We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your builds or brand ideas for marketing without your permission.
Data Retention
We retain your account data as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we retain only the data necessary for legal compliance, fraud prevention, and dispute resolution. Marketplace listings and builds you've published remain visible until you remove them. You can request deletion of your personal data at any time, subject to legal and contractual obligations.
Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, and delete your personal data. You can update your account settings at any time. You have the right to data portability—we can provide your data in a standard format. You can opt out of non-essential communications (marketing emails, product updates) while remaining subscribed to account notifications.
GDPR & CCPA Compliance
If you are in the EU, you have rights under GDPR, including the right to access, correct, delete, and port your data. If you are in California, you have rights under CCPA to know what data we collect, delete your data, and opt out of data sales (we don't sell data, but you can opt out of targeted advertising). To exercise these rights, contact us directly through the LapDog platform support dashboard.
Cookies & Tracking
We use cookies to keep you logged in, remember your preferences, and measure platform performance. We do not use cookies for third-party advertising or cross-site tracking. You can disable cookies in your browser, but some platform features may not work correctly.
Third-Party Services
LapDog uses third-party services for payments (Stripe), banking infrastructure (Unit.co), and hosting. These services have their own privacy policies. We share only the data necessary for them to provide their services. We do not share your builds or brand ideas with third parties without your consent.
Acceptable Use Policy
Prohibited Activities
You may not use LapDog to:
- Violate any laws, regulations, or third-party rights
- Create builds for illegal products or services (drugs, weapons, stolen goods, counterfeit items)
- Engage in fraud, deception, or impersonation
- Harass, threaten, or abuse other users
- Spam, phish, or send unsolicited communications
- Reverse-engineer, hack, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the platform
- Interfere with platform operations or security
Intellectual Property Violations
You may not use LapDog to create builds that infringe on others' copyrights, trademarks, patents, or trade secrets. You may not copy or plagiarize existing brands, products, or marketing materials. If you list a build on the Marketplace, you represent that all assets (domain, code, copy, design) are original or properly licensed. LapDog will investigate and remove listings that violate intellectual property rights.
Marketplace Integrity
When listing builds on the Marketplace, you must provide accurate descriptions and honest valuations. You may not artificially inflate prices, create fake listings, or engage in wash trading (buying and selling your own builds to manipulate activity). You may not misrepresent the quality, functionality, or completeness of your builds. Violations result in listing removal and potential account suspension.
Enforcement
LapDog reserves the right to investigate violations, suspend or terminate accounts, remove listings, and report illegal activity to law enforcement. Repeated violations of this policy will result in permanent account termination.
